'Nap' costs Thunderbolts

THE Northern Thunderbolts' NSW Country Divisional Rugby League Championships campaign came to a shuddering halt on Saturday when the Bidgee Bulls made full use of a 10-minute slumber by the local side to record a convincing 42-18 semi- final victory at Wollongong.

While the scoreline shows the Bulls controlled the match, the Northern Rivers and Group 19 side pushed the Monaro-ACT division all the way.

In fact, Northern Rivers president Robin Harley believes but for a poor 10 minute period early in the second-half, the local boys could have claimed the win.

“We made a good fist of the match and I think we could have won if they hadn't let those 10 minutes slip.”
