Natalie Conway eliminated from The X Factor

NATALIE Conway hopes she has inspired other shy singers to come out of their shells during her time on The X Factor.

The Sydney singer was eliminated tonight after finding herself in the bottom two for the first time.

A split judging panel sent the result to deadlock, with jazz singer Mahalia Simpson surviving for another week.

"This has been the most incredible ride of my whole life," the 33-year-old said.

"I'd encourage anyone feeling a bit shy about it to just give it a go."

Her mentor James Blunt praised her for overcoming her near-crippling nerves during her time on the show.

"I've been working with a singer who is far better than myself," he said.

"She's an angel and she's been a joy to work with."

Conway had released several songs before going on The X Factor and trained with a vocal coach from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Blunt is now left with just one singer, Louise Adams in the Over 25s category.

Next week the judges will be free to choose whatever song they think is best for the remaining five singers as the reality singing show enters its final weeks.
