Nationals investing in TAFE

TWEED Nationals MP Geoff Provest has announced there is no-where better to develop a career than Kingscliff TAFE.

Mr Provest visited the TAFE on Tuesday to sign the NSW Teachers Federation’s Invest in TAFE Skills Charter.

“I have admired and employed Kingscliff TAFE graduates since I ran Tweed Heads Bowls Club some years ago,” Mr Provest said.

“Kingscliff TAFE delivers second-to-none training in tour- ism, hospitality, graphic design, and information technology, to name a few.”

Federation president Bob Lipscombe said research conducted by the Allen Consulting Group found that every dollar invested in TAFE returns $6 to the economy.

“The people of NSW want a better state where there is a strong economy and thriving communities. A state where everyone has affordable access to a TAFE education, where jobs and courses are not contracted, and where government investment in TAFE ensures a skilled workforce,” Mr Lipscombe said.
