Nats enlist comedy in campaign
NATIONAL Party candidate for the seat of Richmond, Matthew Fraser, will hold a fundraising event next Thursday at Birch Carroll and Coyle Coolangatta.
The event will give voters the opportunity to meet Mr Fraser and ask some of the questions foremost in people's minds.
Mr Fraser said although raising funds to pursue his campaign was important, the bigger picture was that people were investing in the future and the changes which the country needed.
"It's an investment in the nation," Mr Fraser said.
The event will start with an introduction by Mr Fraser followed by the showing of the movie The Campaign starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis.
The movie (see movie scene below) depicts a campaign for North Carolina's seat of Congress in the USA during which two businessmen attempt to oust a long-term congressman and replace him with a more suitable candidate.

The movie will be followed by a question and answer session with Mr Fraser who said he would be happy to discuss any policy issues people were interested in.
The event will start at 6.30pm at Showcase on the Beach and will cost $20 per person.
Tickets are available at the Good Guys Tweed Heads South or email richmondnationals@gmail.com.
