Netballers eye off shot at finals

NETBALL finals action is heating up in Tweed's two netball associations, and there is an extra fire burning in the belly of the players as they shoot for grand final glory.

For the open women in the Tweed Netball Association, the burning question on everyone's lips is: Can anyone beat THP?

The side has been dominant for years, and this weekend Saints Stingers and Kingscliff Avatars will face off for the chance to take on THP in the season's biggest game.

THP are in their usual intimidating form and beat Saints Stingers 60-19 in the major semi-final at the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Murwillumbah Netball Association open division is a much closer affair.

Minor premiers the Waratahs narrowly beat fourth-placed Newbies in the major semi-final to secure direct route to the grand final.

Southern Cross Stars also got up in a close minor semi against Stingers and will take on Newbies to have a crack at Waratahs for the premiership.
