New cookbook tested in Coles

THURSDAY’S morning tea was a simple but star-quality affair for shoppers at a Tweed supermarket.

Kim McCosker, co-author of the hit series and books, 4 Ingredients, hit Coles at Centro Tweed to promote her latest cookbook, 4 Ingredients with Gourmet Garden.

Ms McCosker had a plate of tasty cakes and shortbread that she had baked herself on hand to tempt peckish shoppers.

All the recipes in the book use Gourmet Garden herb and spice tubes – including desserts and sweet snacks.

Tweed resident Laurel Hanna said the ginger fruit cake she tried was a hit.

“It was just lovely. I very much enjoyed it,” she said.

Ms McCosker came to Tweed on a national tour of Coles supermarkets.

She said the Australian tour came after a similar campaign in England was met with success.

“We came up with an in store concept for Sainsbury’s in England, and it was essentially the same as this – buy any of the two Gourmet Garden herbs and spices in a tube and get a fabulous 4 Ingredients cookbook,” Ms McCosker said.

Ms McCosker said her favourite recipes in the book are the morning teas and desserts.

She wrote the first 4 Ingredients cookbook, published in 2007, with her childhood friend Rachael Birmingham.
