New faces driving the Daily
THERE are two new faces helping to drive the Tweed Daily News.
Editor Natalie Gauld and brand sales manager Kellie Creighton both started at Tweed Newspapers this week.
They spent Thursday meeting newsagents in the Tweed area.
Ms Gauld comes to the Tweed via New Zealand, where she was editing Hawke’s Bay Today – another APN News & Media publication.
Before that, she edited The Queensland Times in Ipswich and the Warwick Daily News.
Ms Gauld was also the associate editor of the Toowoomba Chronicle.
She is replacing Brad Ricks, who is moving to Western Australia.
Mr Ricks started at the Tweed Daily News in 2006 as chief of staff before being promoted to editor.
“While I am a Queenslander through and through, I will enjoy crossing the border to enjoy the Tweed lifestyle,” Ms Gauld said.
“I am also looking forward to the warmer weather and great beaches.”
Ms Gauld said there were plans to make a bigger and brighter newspaper in 2010.
“Readers and advertisers can look forward to a new look,” she said.
Ms Creighton is the brand sales manager for The Northern Star in Lismore, but her area has expanded to include the Tweed.
“I am hoping to build strong relationships with the newsagents,” she said.
Ms Creighton will continue her newsagent visits over the coming weeks.
