New Fingal Head bridge to open

THE newly constructed Fingal Head Bridge will be opened to traffic from tomorrow.

Council applied a temporary seal on both road approaches to the bridge this afternoon to allow traffic to use the new bridge from Saturday.

While work to complete final touches to the bridge and road approaches resume on Monday, traffic will continue to use the bridge under the direction of stop/slow flagmen.

The temporary traffic bridge will be removed next week to allow kerbs and gutters to be constructed on the eastern side of the new bridge.

Then permanent surfacing will be applied to road approaches.

Council expects the new bridge to be fully finished and operational in approximately 10 days, weather permitting.
