NZ man dies overnight at Clermont while sleeping outside

BREAKING 12.20pm: A police media spokeswoman has confirmed reports a New Zealand man was found dead outside a Clermont house this morning.

The spokeswoman said the 40-year-old man's death was being treated as non-suspicious.

It is believed the man slept outside the house in freezing conditions; however police could not confirm this.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the temperature in Clermont dropped to just one degree overnight.

The police spokeswoman said a report would now be prepared for the Coroner, who will determine the exact cause of death.
