Newborn baby abandoned on street
A NEWBORN baby is lucky to be alive after being abandoned in a cold, dark street in the early hours of this morning.
The six-week old boy was found in a capsule in Lidcombe St in Sydney's west about 3.15am.
Soon after, police were called to the Lidcombe train station where a man and woman, who turned out to be the boy's parents, were involved in an argument.
The baby was taken to the Westmead Children's Hospital where he is being treated for the effects of the cold.
His parents are being interview by police and DOCS will be contacted today.
