Nick and Candice crowned 2014 Beauty and the Geek winners

SYDNEY teen Nick Hamilton and his American beauty were crowned the winners of Beauty and the Geek last night.

The 19-year-old splits the life-changing sum of $100,000 with his team mate Candice Stinson, whom he chose to pair up with within seconds of meeting the blonde beauty in Las Vegas.

The odd couple beat fellow finalists Nicole Burns and Alex Tomisich and Frances Russell and Oliver O'Neill for the BATG crown.

Hamilton, who grew up Tamworth and now studies commerce at the University of NSW, described Stinson as his partner in crime.

"I couldn't imagine (doing this) with anyone other than Candice," he said.

"I am so much more confident now and I have Candice to thank for that."

Earlier this month Hamilton received a stylish makeover to reflect his new-found confidence to talk to girls, which was put to the test in last night's grand final when he won the blind date challenge.

"I'd never been on a date before Beauty and the Geek," he said.

"I never would have thought it (winning) was possible."

Cheeky Hamilton emerged as an early frontrunner on the show after winning the confronting first strip show challenge in Las Vegas.

With an IQ of 151 and a sharp new look to match, Hamilton is excited about his future as a social butterfly.

"My perspective has changed dramatically," he said.

"I feel like I'm a lot more confident. I don't have any problem going up to a random stranger and starting a conversation with them.

"The show just really helped me get out of my shell and realise what my strengths are in talking to people and my personality and just to embrace them."
