NiE what a disaster

Everyone on Earth lives through constantly varying conditions. Significant changes in the normal state of the earth and its atmosphere can lead to extreme events like droughts, floods, landslides, storms, cyclones, ocean and coastal surges, earthquakes, bushfires, heat waves and cold snaps.

These disasters usually occur because of an upset in the Earth's natural geographical or weather patterns but human factors can also have an effect. Both can cause a change to our normal living conditions.

The impact these extreme conditions can have on our lives can be devastating. A community needs to be able to recover quickly, financially and physically from a severe event. Therefore it is important to be prepared and plan ahead for any emergency.
