Eight hospitalised after head on crash at Amamoor

EIGHT people were hospitalised yesterday morning following a two-car head-on traffic crash on Kandanga-Amamoor Rd at Amamoor.

Gympie Police Sergeant Mick Curran reported that a people mover with seven occupants crashed into a single-occupant sedan.

All were taken to Gympie General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Sgt Curran said police were still investigating the cause of the crash.

He said the crash, which occurred just before 7am, had little impact on Muster traffic due to the time of day.

However, he said it was a timely reminder for drivers to take care on country roads as more traffic uses the generally quiet roads of Amamoor for the Gympie Music Muster.
