No jail time for madam who prostituted 14-year-old girl

A MADAM, who prostituted a 14-year-old girl from her Sydney brothel, has escaped jail time.

Jennifer Weatherstone, 50, was operating the Sparkling Chandeliers parlour in the notorious red-light district of Kings Cross when it was discovered the girl was working for her.

She claimed she was unaware the girl was underage and believed her to be at least 19 when she applied for the job.

Earlier this year, Ms Weatherstone was convicted of two counts of child prostitution.

She fronted court on Monday and was given a suspended sentence and good behaviour bond.
