15-second hair tutorial: The pony-tail fringe
HAIR has become an essential part of our day-to-day lives. It is more than a fashion and rather an expression of personality and something that signifies who we are.
So when it comes to getting a haircut, there is a good reason why we get nervous about making a significant change.
Fringes are a huge change - they can make or break our style. Yes, you could look as good as Zooey Deschanel, but alternatively you could look like someone ran over your head with a lawnmower.
Honestly, the hair struggle is real, and when you get stuck with a bad fringe you're stuck with that for a while.
It's no surprise that Instagram's makemebella's 15-second hair tutorial went viral last week on the internet as we were all amazed with the ponytail fringe.
She not only made it look incredibly easy to style at home but it also looked like she actually had a fringe.
So when my colleagues asked me to try this, I thought, "Why not?" Here's how you can try this at home.
Step 1: Tie your hair into a ponytail.
Step 2: Fold your ponytail to the front of your face and then make a little bun so you have the right length of hair at the end of your ponytail over your face and it looks like a fringe.
Step 3: Brush and straighten to neaten.
Step 4: Wrap headband or scarf around your head.
Step 5: Adjust bun and fringe to suit and fix with bobby pins. Now enjoy your new temporary fringe.
Firstly, my fringe didn't take me 15 seconds. It didn't take me 15 minutes. I spent a good half an hour to get this style sorted, and when I finished the entire headband fell out.
After some more readjusting I found that I had a lot of hair, and looked like I was ready to perform in a Grease musical.
Some of my colleagues in the office decided they would try a cap fringe instead (pictured above). We all managed to experience what it was like to have a fringe without regrets.
