No score for Tweed Seagulls at the weekend
TWEED Seagulls RLFC did not score a single point during Sunday's away game against Redcliffe Dolphins, for the first time in 228 QRL cup games.
Both teams did not play up to their usual high standards, but Dolphins still managed to cross the Tweed line five times to achieve a 24-0 victory at their home field of Dolphin Oval.
However, Tweed did manage to scrounge one positive outcome from the loss, halting Redcliffe's Liam Georgetown from scoring a try for the 20th consecutive game.
In the first ten minutes of the game Nick Slyney went over the line and after another tricky try by Joe Bradley the score was 10-0 at half time.
Early in the second half Paul Ivan snaked through the posts and the tries kept racking up after that, with Luke Capewell and Delroy Berryman bringing the game to an end, much to the dismay of the Seagulls squad.
The Seagull's will be hunting for their second win of the season when they face off against the Northern Pride in Innisfail this Saturday.
Seagulls have two points and are currently sitting equal third with four other teams on the QRL InTrust Cup ladder.
