No shark found, lake re-opened
THE GOLD Coast can now relax – there is no shark in the Evandale Lake.
The lake was re-opened today after a Gold Coast City Council contractor failed to find a shark in the lake.
Engineering Services Committee Chair Cr Dawn Crichlow said the council closed the lake as a precaution and hired a shark contractor, following a reported sighting by a member of the public on the weekend.
“The nets were removed this morning and while I’m sure some will be disappointed, no shark was found in the lake,” Mr Crichlow said.
