Nominations open for Tweed poll

NOMINATIONS for the September 8 Tweed Shire Council elections have opened and prospective candidates have until noon on August 8 to put their names forward.

With an already crowded field planning to contest the poll, Tweed Shire returning officer Len Sparreboom said it was the responsibility of candidates to ensure they filled out the correct nomination form and lodged it in time.

Nomination forms are available from Mr Sparreboom on 07 5536 4107, by download from the NSW Electoral Commission at votensw.info or by calling the candidate call centre on 1300 135 736.
