Raiders clash with Panthers a wash of mixed emotion
THE Raiders have endured mixed emotions leading up to their clash against the Panthers at Canberra Stadium tonight.
Reports emerged on Thursday linking winger Sandor Earl with illegal peptides in 2011, before Blues and Kangaroos representative prop Brett White yesterday agreed to remain at the club for another year.
Earl, who was called back into the Canberra starting line-up for the injured Edrick Lee, denied the reports that brought his reputation into disrepute.
"I was shocked at the allegations raised last night and I absolutely deny any wrongdoing. My solicitors have already begun investigating defamation procedures," he said.
Meanwhile, White was delighted to remain in the capital, saying the fact he only played five games last year because of a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament had freshened him up.
"After having 12 months off I feel I can go around for a couple more years," he said.
Penrith also re-signed five-eighth Isaac John on a two-year extension yesterday, after re-securing the services of Nigel Plum and Adam Docker on Wednesday.
The battle between the talented Robinson twins - Canberra fullback Reece and Penrith winger Travis, is sure to be a highlight.
