NSW player ratings for Origin 1

Matt Moylan 7

A player of the future at this level. A mixed bag where he let a clearing kick bounce and dropped a bomb, but always returned the ball with vigour and earned his team a dropout with a beautiful deft grubber.

Blake Ferguson 6 ½

Didn't mind a bit of push and shove and helped out his forwards with extra carries.

Michael Jennings 6

Didn't see much ball, but was a danger whenever he received space on limited occasions.

Josh Morris 6

Picked for his defence on Greg Inglis and shut him down well. Good bust in 51st minute. Recovered from shocking early error off a penalty tap restart.

Josh Mansour 6

Like Ferguson, helped his forwards immensely with some very handy metres.

James Maloney 7

Great try-saving cover tackle on Dane Gagai. Enjoyed giving a bit of niggle too. Linked up well with Adam Reynolds.

Adam Reynolds 6 ½

Good long and short kicking game. Shanked a cross-field kick in the 70th minute but did enough to be kept for Game II.

Aaron Woods 6

Much better showing than Game III last year. Attracted multiple defenders often in first half.

Robbie Farah 6

Crafty out of dummy-half, and high work rate in defence.

Paul Gallen (capt) 6 ½

Not quite the numbers we're used to seeing from Gallen in a Blue jersey, but tried his best as always.

Boyd Cordner 7

Very strong first half which culminated in a try.

Josh Jackson 6

Work horse in defence and ran good lines with the ball.

James Tamou 6

Yardage game down for a middle player.

INTER

Dylan Walker 2

Barely sighted - came on too late.

David Klemmer 6 ½

High impact after coming on from bench. Monstered Michael Morgan with a ferocious hit-up.

Andrew Fifita 7

Huge off the bench. Dangerous offload helped his team immensely.

Greg Bird 6

Tried hard with 34 tackles.
