NSW Transport reveals preferred route of new Grafton bridge

WORK on the second Grafton bridge could begin as early as next year after the state's roads department finally decided on a preferred Clarence River crossing.
The favourite route - Option C - crosses the river immediately downstream of the existing Grafton Bridge and connects the junction of the Pacific and Gwydir highways at South Grafton with Pound St at Grafton.
Staffed displays outlining the proposal will be held at Grafton Shopping World in January and February.
Community feedback is welcome until February 18.
Tenders are expected to be put out mid 2013.
