WIMBLEDON qualifying continued to prove difficult for a host of Australian hopefuls yesterday with teenager Ash Barty, Anastasia Rodionova and Olivia Rogowski all bowing out in the first round.
Casey Dellacqua and Sacha Jones fared better, winning through to the second round.
Dellacqua was due to play Argentine Paula Ormaedea overnight, while Jones was up against Japan's Kurumi Nara.
The news was slightly better on the men's side, with Sam Groth bowing out in the second round but Matt Reid and James Duckworth progressing to the third round.
Reid was scheduled to take on American Tim Smyczek overnight, with Duckworth drawn to play Germany's Michael Berrer.
