CHERRYELLA Fields has hit the birthday jackpot by turning 11 on the eleventh day of the eleventh month of the eleventh year.

The Murwillumbah girl celebrated her milestone birthday today and she was in awe of the lucky date.

"It's pretty cool. I'm excited to have a significant birthday on this date," said the excited (almost) 11-year-old yesterday.

"I'm excited because I know it's pretty special."

Cherryella's mum Toni Fields said family and friends will be with her daughter to celebrate her special day.

"We have people travelling from Canberra and Brisbane to celebrate Cherryella's birthday, these are the people who have been in her life since she was born," Ms Fields said.

"She is very aware that she shares her birthday with a very special day and she knows how important Remembrance Day is.

"At the three birthday parties she has had we have held a minute's silence in the middle of the party at 11am."

Ms Fields said her family realised last year that Cherryella's birthday would fall on a significant date.

"We realised a few days before her tenth birthday last year, a stranger pointed it out to us," Ms Fields laughed.

"It's supposed to be a very lucky date so she is happy about that.

"She received a chain mail text message recently that talked about the date and how lucky the number one is.

"That made her very happy because of all the ones surrounding her birthday. It's going to be a great day."
