PUNTERS have started betting on who will be this year's TIME Magazine Person of the Year.

Sportsbet.com.au has published the current odds, with the #MeToo social movement being the favourite at $2.38.

China's Xi Jinping ($5.60), France's Emmanual Macron ($7.80), and the US Dreamers ($12.25) are next, pipping Donald Trump ($13.50), who famously claimed that TIME had already asked him to be Person of the Year.

Sadly for the embattled US president, that's not quite how this works.

"Nothing has quite dominated the headlines this year as the #MeToo conversation and it would be a worthy winner,'' said sportsbet.com.au's Will Byrne.
