Teen killed, five injured in rollover

ONE man is dead and five others injured following a traffic crash near Lowood in the early hours of Saturday.

About 12.40am, a ute driver lost control and the vehicle rolled while travelling along Forest-Hill Fernvale Rd.

A 17-year-old man was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital but was pronounced dead several hours later.

It is understood the teenager was in the tray of the ute when it rolled.

A 36-year-old man, a 21-year-old man, two 17-year-old men and a 14-year-old boy were also taken to hospital.

Two were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment and the three others were taken to Ipswich General Hospital.

The road was closed by police after 1am for almost six hours, reopening about 7am on Saturday.

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing investigations.
