Mum sees massive gap in market for young women's clothing
IN A shining example of the opportunities available in the CBD to those who are willing to reach out and grab them, a young Maryborough mum has opened her own boutique clothing store on Kent St.
Thursday Love is the brainchild of Emily Bundellu, a long-time Maryborough resident who saw the gap in the market and went for it.
"I was walking through the CBD with my mum one day and I realised there was nothing for young women," she said.
"I shopped locally where I could but I used to do a lot of my clothes shopping out of town.
"I could see a massive gap in the market here."
Ms Bundellu said she chose to base Thursday Love at 351 Kent St, between Bazaar and Richmond Sts.
"I really like this end of town," she said.
"Yes, I probably could have opened somewhere with heavier foot traffic, but this is close to the coffee shops and cafes."
She said she hoped locals would support the new venture and continue to support the CBD as a whole.
"It's so important to support the CBD," Ms Bundellu said.
"It's a different experience when you shop with a local business.
"For example, I love shopping at Anne's Lingerie - they know me and they know what I like."
Ms Bundellu stressed that her new business wasn't "just about clothes".
"My main goal here is to inspire girls to feel better about themselves, to treat themselves," she said.
