Jocelyn is the face of fashion

CASUARINA Beach beauty Jocelyn Savage was crowned as the Face of Gold Coast Fashion Week in a glittering catwalk show on Saturday night.

The event, which was held at Komune Resort and Beach Club, featured 20 finalists strutting their stuff on a catwalk suspended above Komune's idyllic swimming pool.

More than 60 beauties put their names forward to be the face of the Coast's most prestigious fashion event, but only 20 women made the cut.

Gold Coast Fashion Week coordinator Michaela Fitzgerald said the crown went to the girl who embodied a healthy look and represented the style and sophistication of the Gold Coast.

"We had so many amazing girls enter and we had entries from across Australia, from places like Brisbane, Sydney and the Sunshine Coast," Ms Fitzgerald said.

"We wanted to find somebody with a fresh, natural image who has a look that alludes to high fashion."

The models first took to the runway in their signature clean cut white T-shirts and jeans ensembles before donning black swimsuits in an array of cuts and styles.

For the final runway look, the fashion week hopefuls slipped into an outfit of their own choosing to wow the judges.

Five finalists were announced and took part in a question and answer session on stage before the winner was announced.

Ms Savage has walked away with a slew of prizes including the chance to lead the runway at the Gold Coast Fashion Week opening catwalk parade in February.
