Over-55 development popular

RETIRED baby boomers are pushing one section of the Tweed property market through the roof.

The Serene Living development for over 55s opposite the Tweed Heads Bowls Club has had another sales rush with 70 per cent of units now sold.

Agents say rapid growth in the retiree market is feeding demand for the 52 units being built by developer Proda.

They say the $46 million project has experienced an average of 2.5 sales per week, with total sales amassing $30.5 million.

Marketing manager Amber Holmes said the latest sales run was a sign of a “thriving Tweed region, where rapid growth in the retiree market is pushing demand skyward”.
