Pair's craving satisfied
FANS of Palm Beach clothing store Dot Wears A Dress will be thrilled to know business partners Sharon Fletcher and Mandy Bell have opened a new store.
Tucked away on 7th Ave, Crave Yard stocks men's and women's clothing with a younger, edgier style than Dot's beachy, bohemian fashion.
Ms Fletcher said while retail was taking a battering in the economic climate, Crave Yard was the perfect way the duo could fight fire with fire.
"We felt that Palm Beach needed a younger, edgy store and when the spot came up we knew it was time," she said.
"We want to keep Palm Beach as a destination.
"We know people come here specifically for Dot Wears A Dress, but now if they don't find anything we can send them on to Crave Yard, and the store is getting its own following now too, which is great."
Fulltime employee Hollie Burndred has taken her years of experience at Dot Wears A Dress to the new store with extra enthusiasm knowing Crave Yard stocks a lot of her favourite labels.
"This is a bit more my style, the edgier stuff and it's just great to have both the styles right here," Ms Burndred said.
"I don't feel there's too much similar on the Coast, especially having the walls painted and all that extra attention to detail.
"We wanted something new and this spot was perfect.
"Mandy and Sharon have been really clever owning both stores."
Crave Yard stocks One Teaspoon, Fairground, Mink Pink, Staple, Tainted, May the Label, The Cassette Society, D.A.C Apparel, Friend of Mine, Stylestalker, Neuw, Religion and more.
Visit Crave Yard on 7th Ave, Palm Beach, or at www.craveyard.com.au. Open Monday-Wednesday from 9am-5pm, Thursday-Friday from 9am-5.30pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 9am-1pm.
