Palaszczuk rubbishes Newman's bikie funds outburst

PREMIER Campbell Newman has dramatically escalated his attack on Queensland Labor's alleged bikie links, saying it is up to the party to prove his claims are not true and telling people to "Google it".

His comments come after an angry Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk all but fired a "put up or shut up" missive at the Premier over claims he aired at the Peoples' Forum on Friday night that bikies are funnelling funds to the Labor Party through one of its most powerful union backers, the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union.

"He was making very serious allegations last night," she told reporters in Brisbane on Saturday.

"If he has any evidence or anyone out there has any evidence, refer it immediately to the authorities."

In an extraordinary attack in Mackay on Saturday, Mr Newman said it was not for him to take any evidence he had to police but for Labor to "answer the question".
