Parko launches surf comp at Snapper Rocks

SURFING Australia has announced the career-launching Subway surf series will return next year.

Coolangatta local and 2012 World Surfing League World Champion Joel Parkinson will hit Snapper Rocks on Saturday morning to officially launch the junior surfing series.

With the series officially back for a second year, a major announcement is expected to be made about the 2015/16 series that organisers are expecting to be “bigger and better than ever”.

With a number of up-and-coming junior surfing stars in the region, the news that the series is returning will be a boost for Tweed’s young surfers.

The Parkinson–led launch is scheduled to begin at 8.30am at Snapper Rocks.
