Party-goers rob house during teenager's birthday bash

A TEEN'S birthday at a Mt Burrell property turned to chaos over the weekend when party-goers ransacked the occupants' house while they slept.

Scott Poad said his daughter's party on Saturday, was an invite-only event for 50 guests but instead 150 showed up.

Mr Poad said although many of the young people who attended were respectful, "there were a handful of rotten eggs”.

Between the hours of 3.30am and 6am the property was "riffled” with a laptop, a didgeridoo, toothbrushes, set of drawers and three pink flamingo garden ornaments among the items stolen.

Mr Poad said all of his essential oils and homoeopathic medicine were also stolen.

"We didn't realise until we got up in the morning,” Mr Poad said.

"It was all material things, but you feel violated because when you open up your house you trust people. It was quiet traumatic for myself and my family.”

Mr Poad called for community help in finding those responsible and for nearby parents to check for the stolen items in their teens' possession, particularly the Toshiba laptop which holds vital information.

Phone Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
