Pedestrian hit by car backing out of driveway in Tweed

AN ELDERLY man has been taken to hospital after he was hit by a car coming out of a driveway at Tweed Heads.

Police said the driver of the car was reversing onto Enid St when he heard a thud and felt an impact.

When the driver got out he found an elderly man unconscious on the road with cuts.

He was taken to hospital however his condition was not believed to be serious.

The driver was fined.
