Perform with the Magic Pudding

MURWILLUMBAH Theatre Company will be holding auditions for the Magic Pudding on Tuesday, July 10 at the Autumn Club Hall at 7.30pm.

"I am looking for a cast of 12 plus crew," said director and MTC president Colin Elliott.

"We will need males and females 15 years and over.

"We will be rehearsing at least twice a week leading up to the shows that will begin on October 10."

The season will run for three weeks and include some weekday matinees for schools.

Murwillumbah Theatre Company has a long tradition of producing live theatre for children.

These productions are very often the first exposure to live theatre that local children get to experience.

The Magic Pudding by Norman Lindsay and adapted for the stage by Andrew James and Sarah de Jong is an icon of Australian children's literature.

"This adaptation honours the spirit of the original work in a very affectionate and effective way," Mr Elliott said.

"I have directed many shows for the MTC including the last three children's productions James and the Giant Peach.,The Fantastic Mr Fox and The Twits.

"My philosophy is that everyone involved should put their heart and soul into the production but if you're not having fun you're not doing it right."
