Consumer watchdog keeping an eye on our petrol prices: Hogan

PAGE MP Kevin Hogan said he had received a reply from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission after he asked it to investigate why local petrol prices were well above the average of both Sydney and Brisbane.

In parts of Sydney, the cost of petrol has now fallen to less than $1 per litre, yet average prices remain above $1.20 across the North Coast, with the exception of Tweed Heads, where it has fallen to $1.10, and Grafton, where it is down to $1.17.

Mr Hogan said the ACCC confirmed it was monitoring prices across the community.

It will report their findings to him when completed.
