Hotline to curb teen problems

PARENTS in Murwillumbah and surrounding areas have been urged to make use of a special parenting hotline and webpage to reduce some of the teenage problems in the district.

State MP for Lismore, Thomas George whose electorate includes Murwillumbah and rural areas north to the Queensland border, yesterday called on parents to make use of the government.

Mr George said the recently-launched website was a great resource for parents because it covered common parenting “problems like communicating and negotiating with teenagers and teenagers running away and child development”.

Mr George said parents could call Parent Line on 1300 130052 or visit the new website www.parentline.org.au.
