Photographer of the Year exposed

CONDONG photographer Justin Ealand has taken out a prestigious photography award after taking snapshots on road trips with his son Jarrah.

The impressive landscapes have earned him Australian Institute of Professional Photography Queensland Landscape Professional Photographer of the Year.

Mr Ealand said his landscape photography was what kept his passion for photography strong.

“I love the wedding photography that I do through my business, Bush Turkey Studio, but landscape photography is what I just do for myself,” he said. “The winning shots were taken on a road trip with my son Jarrah. He also took a camera and did some shots for fun.”

Mr Ealand is hoping the award will throw his annual charity photography exhibition into the spotlight.

“Myself and local photographers Trevor Worden and Tristam Evison are holding a photography exhibition in Murwillumbah called Three Photography,” Mr Ealand said.

The winning shots have not yet been released as they may be entered in national awards in June.

“Landscape photography is what I do just for myself.”
