Tweed to get a boost from reforms, forum to discuss
NSW'S first planning reforms since 1979 are expected to boost the growth of the Tweed region.
The Planning White Paper for NSW has promised faster, more efficient development application assessments and a more certain and consistent way of funding infrastructure.
The Urban Development Institute of Australia will host a forum to examine the paper on September 4, from 7.15-9am, at South Tweed Sports Club on Minjungbal Dr.
Guest speakers Vince Connell, director of Planning and Regulation for the Tweed Shire Council and Darryl Anderson, of Darryl Anderson Consulting Town Planning, will officiate the meeting.
UDIA Gold Coast/ Logan president David Ransom said the Tweed was already one of the most active regions for new development, and the White Paper was expected to further boost the region's performance.
He said the Tweed was "an area to be watched for considerable growth in the coming years".
