Plans for harbour-side cinema

TWEED residents might soon be able to catch a flick at Jack Evans Boat Harbour.

Councillor Katie Milne will propose, at the next council meeting, to have an outdoor cinema screen at the harbour.

Cr Milne said the harbour was an underutilised asset and an outdoor cinema was would take advantage of the Tweed's "beautiful nights".

"I think it would be something that would be very good for the harbour," Cr Milne said.

"It could be hired out to community groups and it would give the kids of the Tweed something to do at night."

Cr Milne said the screen could even be floated on the water.

Gold Coast City Council has free outdoor movies in the city's parks.
