Plants a breath of fresh office air

FIVE hundred Tweed office workers are breathing easier thanks to Boyds Bay Garden World.

The Tweed Heads garden centre this week visited random offices in Tweed Heads and Coolangatta and delivered 500 desk plants as part of the Improve Your Plant/Life Balance campaign.

“It's an amazing program that's been set up on Facebook,” Boyds Bay retail manager Ian Brown said.

The Nursery and Garden Industry Association campaign encourages people to log onto the Facebook page to take part in the program.

The website includes tips on how to maintain their plant and competitions, such as the best named and dressed-up.

Mr Brown said having a plant on your desk improved air quality, reduced office noise and brightened up your workspace.

“As well as producing oxygen and filtrating pollution in the air, the benefits of plants on the psychological mindset are enormous.

“Offices are the most neglected area for plants. Indoor plants are dying at the moment,” he said.

People can log onto www.facebook.com/plantlifebalance to print a voucher and receive 20% off office plants at Boyds Bay Garden World.
