Police charge teen caught with meth at Fingal

A TEENAGER will face court on drug charges after being caught with crystal meth at Fingal Head over the weekend.

At about 12.45pm on Saturday, Kingscliff police were patrolling Fingal Head when they arrested the 18-year-old.

Police confiscated what they allege was a small amount of the drug ‘ice’ and other drug paraphernalia.

Police said the man admitted being a user of the drug.

The young man is expected to attend Tweed Heads Local Court on August 1 on charges of possessing a prohibited drug.

A police spokesman said it was possible the youth may receive a court-ordered drug addiction treatment.

The spokesman said methyl-amphetamine was illegal to possess and “results in horrendous health problems to those people that use it”.
