Dob in a dealer for $1000

TWEED police want people to "dob in a dealer" this weekend.

After a three-year hiatus, the Dob in a Dealer campaign is back with a Tweed/Byron command push seeking the public's help to identify dealers.

Inspector Darren Steel said when the program was last run the police were provided with useful information.

"This is coming on the back of our work at the Bluesfest where 100 drug detections were made," Insp Steel said.

"This is run by the command so we want to hear from people from Byron Bay to Tweed Heads."

As part of the campaign, any person that gives information that leads to an arrest and conviction can receive a $1000 reward.

The Dob in a Dealer runs April 13 - 15.

Anyone with information about a drug dealer can phone Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
