Fugitive may be in Qld: police

POLICE believe a fugitive who evaded capture in Banora Point last week may have moved back into Queensland.

On Thursday afternoon, Tweed police arrested 27-year-old Fadi Chiha who was wanted in relation to outstanding warrants for armed robbery and aggravated kidnapping in Bankstown.

A 21-year-old man who was wanted by Queensland police is still on the run despite a search of dense bush land in the Banora Point area by local police, the dog squad and Queensland police helicopter.

A NSW Police Force spokeswoman said police believed the man may have moved back into Queensland.
