Police hunt man who offered Tweed school kid chocolate

TWEED police are investigating after a suspicious man offered a child chocolate outside a Tweed Heads South school last week.

About 3.30pm Thursday a man approached a woman and her son outside the school.

Another adult intervened after the man offered the boy a chocolate.

It's understood the man then drove away.

The man was described as aged about 40, with short dark hair and a medium build.

He was last seen wearing dark pants and a white button-up shirt.

Police said the man was seen driving a 1998 model white Holden Commodore station wagon.

With investigations ongoing, anyone with information on the man's whereabouts should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
