Hunt for suspected robbers goes on

UPDATE: Police are still searching for two men suspected of robbing a man on the Currumbin Creek foot bridge on Saturday night.

About 8.10pm two men stopped a 27-year-old Palm Beach man as he was cycling across the Currumbin Creek bridge.

Police say the two men punched the man several times, knocking him to the ground.

One man was armed with a knife and threatened the man to have him hand over his bag.

They stole his backpack and ran southbound across the bridge.

The backpack was dropped a short distance away but cash had been stolen from it.

The 27-year-old man suffered a swollen lip as well as minor abrasions to his elbows and knees.

The men police are searching for were both described as being aged in their early 20s, about 175cm tall and medium build.

They were wearing dark hooded clothing with bandannas over their faces.
