Police hunt thief who stole fuel from Chinderah servo

TWEED police are urging anyone with information about a spate of fuel thefts to come forward.

The command is investigating a number of alleged fail to pay offences at service stations around the Tweed.

Police need to identify the owner of a white Toyota Hilux with no number plates, caught on CCTV at a Chinderah petrol station.

The driver was described as a Caucasian male, wearing a khaki cap.

Every fuel theft is assigned to an officer and investigated to prosecute offenders.

Severe penalties including custodial sentences can be imposed by the courts upon conviction.
