POLICE are desperate to find the killer of a Gold Coast teenager.

Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson said the 16-year-old died after he was stabbed at Bundall on Saturday evening.

Police spent yesterday searching the Allawah St area, hoping to find clues to who killed the teenager and why.

Det Supt Hutchinson said emergency workers tried desperately to save the young man.

The South Eastern Police Region crime co-ordinator said police were keen to speak to the owner of a white 2004 Holden Commodore sedan with P plates and anyone who might have seen the vehicle.
