Police investigate overnight motorbike fire

POLICE are investigating whether a motorbike fire in Terranora was deliberately lit.

Tweed Heads Fire Brigade and Tweed Police attended the fire at the corner of Terranora Rd and Fraser Dr, Terranora yesterday at 4.30pm.

Senior firefighter Rob Johnson said the motorcycle, which was on fire when firefighters attended the scene, may have been stolen.

He said firefighters extinguished the blaze and notified police.

Tweed-Byron Local Area Command duty officer Jim Kain said police attended the fire and were continuing investigations.

"At this stage we haven't identified it," he said.

"Police went to the scene and got the motorbike's details."

According to Mr Johnson an engine fire has not been ruled out as the cause of the fire.
