Police seek public's help on crime

Police from the Tweed/Byron Local Area Command are seeking public assistance to identify two men who they believe can assist with investigations into a robbery and assault near Cabarita Beach.

Police have been told two men entered a bottle shop on Coast Road at Bogangar about 7.30pm Wednesday, January 5.

The store attendant told police the men left the store without paying for alcohol, and when the attendant challenged them outside the store, a fight took place and the 24-year-old man suffered cuts to his face.

The man, from Condong, was treated for his injuries at Tweed Heads Hospital and released.

Police have been told the offenders got into a green two-door Hyundai Excel being driven by a third man.

While the registration was not noted, P-plates were seen on the back of the vehicle.

Police are seeking information to identify two men who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries into the incident.

Tweed/Byron LAC crime manager, Detective Inspector Shane Diehm, said he was sure someone in the community would be able to help police.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Tweed Heads Police on (07)55360999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.
