Cops search for bottle shop robber

A MAN threatened a Tweed Heads bottle shop attendant before escaping with a bottle of whiskey on Sunday afternoon.

Tweed Heads Police are investigating the incident after the man reportedly entered a bottle shop in Wharf St and took a bottle from a store display.

The 37-year-old attendant challenged the man when he attempted to leave without paying for the liquor.

The attacker threatened the attendant with the bottle before running north along Wharf St.

Police described the man as aged 25 to 30, 180cm tall with medium build and light brown scruffy hair.
